The Safety Conference, jointly organised by the EMSD, the Occupational Safety and Health Council (OSHC), and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), was successfully held on 12 February 2026. The conference brought together government officials, industry leaders and experts to share how I&T solutions such as AI can be applied to enhance occupational safety and health.
With the theme of “Smart to Prevent, Care to Protect”, the conference showcased the latest technological applications in safety management. The EMSD presented its Robotic Dogs for Confined Space Inspection and the centralised management platform of the Smart Site Safety System. The former leverages robotics to reduce the risks associated with personnel entering high-hazard environments, while the latter enables real‑time remote monitoring of site safety across multiple projects through a single integrated platform, thereby effectively mitigating accident risks. The Safety Conference provided a valuable platform for industry exchange, pooling expertise and technologies to strengthen site safety and realise the vision of “zero accidents”.
